8-String Ukulele LANIKAI Sparkling Sound Acacia Koa? Solid Top With Amplifier

This is the LANIKAI 8-string ukulele LU-8. I believe it is made of solid acacia koa. It also has a built-in preamp, so depending on your amplifier settings, you can play a rich sound unique to an 8-string ukulele as an electric ukulele.

The preamp was connected to an external amplifier to confirm that it produces sound. The strings have been newly strung with Japanese fluorocarbon strings for the 8 strings according to Mr. BJ Mimoto's recipe for new/test playing.

When I acquired this used, there was adhesive applied around the bridge, possibly for reinforcement or repair. Please check the product photos for a magnified view. (8-string ukuleles have high string tension and are prone to peeling, so this might be a practical item for first-time 8-string ukulele players to use without worry.)
