Wooden Pot Lid, Approx. 23cm, Single-Sided Yakisugi (Charred Cedar) Finish
This is an old wooden lid for an oden pot from my parents' home.
The top surface has a charred cedar finish, and the underside appears to be natural wood. There are also some light scorch marks, possibly from being used as a lid for a small pot.
The ends of the handle are warped upwards (see photos 4 and 5), but there are no cracks, and it is still fully usable.
It can also be used as a lid for a irori (sunken hearth) pot or as a drop lid.
