Vintage 1950s Thorens Swiss Movement Musical Jewelry Box - Some Enchanted Evening Description:Stunning mid-century vintage vanity jewelry box featuring a premium, working Swiss mechanical musical movement by the legendary Thorens!The exterior is a lovely cream/ivory faux leatherette adorned with delicate gold filigree embossing on the lid and a classic brass latch lock. The bottom features its original green felt backing and the genuine Thorens foil label. When you wind the blue T-bar key on the bottom and lift the lid, it beautifully plays the timeless Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, Some Enchanted Evening from the 1949 Broadway musical South Pacific. Details & Condition:Era: Late 1940s / 1950s Mid-Century Modern (MCM) Mechanism: Swiss-made Thorens mechanical wind-up movement. Song: Some Enchanted Evening Condition: Good vintage condition. The musical mechanism works beautifully and plays clearly. Exterior shows normal, light cosmetic wear on the corners consistent with age (please zoom in on photos).
